What we do

Education
Pre-school and primary education through our UNHCR-registered learning centre for Rohingya and Myanmar children.
Healthcare
Case management, bill payment, referrals, and health education through the Refugee Emergency Fund.
Capacity Building
Training that strengthens the skills of community leaders and focal points across the school and REF.
Community Resources
Food, clothing, books, and toys delivered with partners and individual donors to families in need.

Why this matters
Malaysia is not a signatory to the 1951 Refugee Convention. Refugees have no legal right to work, study, or access affordable healthcare — and face exploitation, arrest, and violence.

No legal recognition
Without a legal framework, refugees are not recognised by the government — limiting access to work, education, movement, and healthcare.

Risk of harm
Refugees, and refugee women especially, face a heightened risk of exploitation, assault, and detention. We stand with survivors and push for protection.

Barriers to care
Even with a UNHCR card, hospital costs remain out of reach for most families. REF fills that gap, case by case.
